Incident Management

When things go wrong, clear communication is key. BlackTide helps you manage the entire incident lifecycle.

Creating an Incident

You can create an incident manually from the dashboard or automatically via API.

  1. Click New Incident.
  2. Select the affected components.
  3. Choose a severity: Minor, Major, or Critical.
  4. Write an initial update for your users.

Incident States

  • Investigating: You are aware of the issue and looking into it.
  • Identified: The cause has been found.
  • Monitoring: A fix has been implemented and you are watching for stability.
  • Resolved: The service is back to normal operations.

Templates

Save time during emergencies by using Incident Templates. Pre-write updates for common scenarios like "Database Maintenance" or "DDoS Attack" so you can post them in seconds.

Post-Mortems

After an incident is resolved, you can publish a post-mortem to explain what happened and how you'll prevent it in the future.
